Detroit comes to Philly should be a closely contested ball game. The 76ers are already in the playoffs but with a strong push have an opportunity to have the first series be at home in Philly. With a win tonight that could give them the right mind set to accomplish that task. Who would have thought that at all possible?

With LeBron James hurt there is a possibility since they have already made the playoffs that the Cleveland Cavaliers sit him until the playoffs. If they do and the 76ers get even hotter than they already are, it is a good opportunity to swoop into the fourth seed. I can dream right?

With a win tonight over the Atlanta Hawks, the 76ers will have found themselves a spot in the playoffs. The eastern teams are shaking in fear them may have to face the scorching hot 76ers in the first round. Tonight is the first game in a home and home, this one in Atlanta, tomorrow Atlanta comes to Philly.

Nice win against the Nets last night

They are proving they deserve to be a playoff team. They all but wrapped up a playoff spot with last nights win against the New Jersey Nets. If they can finish off their season very strong and theres no reason to think they can't they have have a schedule they can almost run the table with, they can finish has high as fourth. I would love to see the 76ers first round playoff opponents to be either Cleveland, yes you read that right, or Orlando. both of those teams do not want to play the 76ers in the first round I can guarantee you that. With the 76ers torrid second half there have been some quiet whispers for Maurice Cheeks to win Coach of the year. I could get behind that and no not just because I'm a homer, he's done a great job with a cast not many people know about including myself.

If my math is correct, with a 76ers victory tonight against the Nets, the 76ers will have secured themselves a playoff spot.

Two losses in a rwo drop them to seventh. I would feel much better with them in the sixth seed playing Orlando in the first round rather than 7th and playing Detroit.

Pheonix Suns come into town

Tough Challenge tonight at home against Shaq and the Suns. Are they up to the challenge? We will see, I can guarantee that it will be competitive, and that's all I ask for.

Nice win against the Pistons last night. I'm sure teams are not wanting to play them in the first round of the playoffs. 76ers could be a spoiler.

Piston's Tonight

Another tough game tonight against the Detroit Pistons. Can they be competitive? It will be a difficult test tonight, but I think they might be able to rebound after that bad loss to the Celtics. I know this is a big if, but the other night against the Celtics, the 76ers had a horrid start getting behind 15-0 and then played even with them the rest of the game.
They are going to need to avoid another bad start like that to have a chance tonight.

Garnett lights it up

The 76ers had no answer for Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics. It doesn't get any easier as the 76ers face the Piston's on Wednesday.

Boston Celtics Tonight

The 76ers put their four game winning streak on the line tonight against the best in the NBA, the Boston Celtics. The 76ers have been taking care of business against the weaker teams in the league and during their really hot stretch as of late has even played the good teams tough including a win over Nash, Shaq and the Suns.

Can they keep it close tonight? Can they keep their hot streak going. It will be a good test.

Seattle Supersonics tonight

They're playing tough and there's no reason to think that it won't continue tonight against the Supersonics. They are a game and a half behind the Washington Wizards and the number six seed. I can't believe I just wrote that. who would have thought they would be playing this well. Not me. I hope they can keep it up.

Two nice wins in a row against Phoenix and the Clippers. They appear like they aren't going anywhere. they are playing really good ball let's hope they can keep it up.
They are off until Friday when they play the Supersonics in Philly.

76ers destroy Magic

A very nice and convincing win against the Orlando Magic. So the answer to my question yesterday about them being able to figure out the magic is yes the can. With that win the 76ers jump into the 7th seed and are inches behind the sixth seed and facing this Magic team in the playoffs, I know there is still plenty of time for that but they are looking really good and proving there success of late is not a fluke. Willie Green and Andre Miller tied the game high with 26 points and Andre Iguodala was close behind with 24.
Also I was watching ESPN to check out the highlights of this game and there was some women I have never seen before doing the highlights and providing analysis, I didn't catch her name, I think she might be a girl from the WNBA and if she is she shouldn't quit her day job because she was awful. She called Iguodala Ilgauskas, she said the 76ers have won seven in a row, and said they don't even have a chance for the playoffs when they are currently sitting 7th
whoever she is, they should not ever have her back on the air.

Orlando Magic tonight

Even though Philly has had one of the best records in February 7-4 two of those losses have been to this Magic team. Can they figure them out tonight? It's a home game before a tough west coast road trip.

This weekend was pretty much as I expected, a blowout loss by the Magic and a win against the Heat. Next game is Wednesday again the Magic again. Then a tough West Coast road trip against the Warriors, Suns and Clippers. The good thing is they are playing very competitive basketball so those should be good close games. That Golden State game should be a shoot out.

I had no idea

That the 76ers were sitting in the eighth spot right now. If the season ended today they would make the playoffs. They would have to play the Celtics but at least they are a playoff team right now! So that's good. Can they give the Magic a good game tonight?

Nice win last night

That's the way you take care of the crap teams in the league, you blow em out by 40 points. The 76ers may not be the best team in the league but when they show that they can handle the crappy teams like that it shows that they are definitely improving. Great way to show that they approve of Maurice Cheeks getting a contract extension yesterday.
Next game is Friday against the Magic in Orlando. Last time they played a few weeks ago I said the 76ers would be blown out and they made it a real close game, can they do the same Friday?

Damn that all-star break

I knew it would screw up the momentum they had going into it. The 76ers suffered a defeat from the hands of a poor Minesita Timberowlves team. The 76ers got outscored in every quarter and ultimately lost by 16 points 104-88. Iguodala was the top scorer for the 76ers netting 17 points.

Lets see if they can rebound against an terrible New York Knicks team who are in last place in the East.

Can they continue on their hot streak that was put on hold by the all-star break? They are on a five game win streak and hope to keep it going against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.

It is now the all-star break so the enxt games is not until next Tuesday. Of course, they are as hot as they've been all season and now the break comes. Well atleast wehn the come back their first game is against the Timberwolves a game that should be very competitive for the 76ers.

After three wins in a row, they face a tough challenge tonight

They have been playing really well the past week, winning three in a row. However tonight they play a very tough Dallas team and Dirk Nowitzki. The only question is will they continue to play tough for 48 minutes?

They should be able to get 2 in a row since they play the lowly Heat without Shaq as he is now a Sun, but I hate to assume anything especially with this Sixers team. The game is at home where ten of their 19 wins have come, so my prediction is that they will pull out a win tonight.

With a strong 4th quarter, the 76ers pulled out an upset win over the Wizards by 5 points 101-96. They outscored the Wizards by 15 in the final frame. AI, Andre Iguodala led the way for the Sixers and scored a game high 20 points.

Even in a loss the other night to the Orlando Magic, I am impressed that they put up a fight. I thought they would have rolled over and gotten wupped. Instead they took it to them and lost by only two points. Keep up the hard work guys.
